Looking forward to page 42's completion, I've also started adding to the storyline a bit... both to the end and expanding on various points along the way.
That handy meter on the right shows the progression through the current revision of the story, which is dynamic. In other words, the script itself is getting longer as more detail is added. The estimated run of 2214 is around three years as of right now.
As far as the art... well, it still doesn't look good enough for me. However, the goal here is to approach the quality of pro manga, so it may never be good enough. But, you'll read it anyway, right?
Here's what's down the road: Gotta do more colour art and practice getting proportions right. Also, I'm trying to get one or two weeks ahead of schedule, which is a lot harder than it sounds when you consider the time of year it is and all the extra crap that comes with the season. It's no secret that I dislike the holiday season; it's too stressful.
Binary Vibrance seems to be coming along pretty well. Email Lynx and tell him what a great jorb he's doing.
What else... oh, yeah. Every year, I try to whip up a music album. That may or may not happen this year. 2214 eats up my time. Also, don't forget to read my C-kon report.
Don't worry - page 42 ought to be done this weekend, so sit back and enjoy the show in the forums - it's really picked up the pace in the past few weeks!
Yeah, one more thing - the traffic around here has picked up considerably. That's always a good sign.
Well folks, I'm back from an exciting weekend at C-kon.
It was a load of fun; the full report can be found Here .
It was really nice to actually meet some of the crew in person. Atropos, Kyler, and Skeith were there. We had a blast.
Now, as far as updates... I'm working hard to finish the next page.
This weekend, I'm heading up to South Bend for C-kon. I hope to see at least some of you there.... although I don't have an artist's table or anything. Just find me wandering around aimlessly.
It occurred to me that all of the 2214 pages before page 31 look.... bad. I'm tempted to take on the HUGE task of re-drawing all of the art for those pages, and adjusting the layouts to make them flow better. Of course, doing that could take months.
Guess what. I'm actually ahead of schedule, which is a good thing since I'm heading off to C-kon this weekend. There won't be any time to draw then, so page 41 is already finished.... but will be posted late Thursday night (otherwise you'd have to wait a full two weeks for the next update!)
That's all I have for now.
If you are in the area of South Bend, Indiana, come to C-Kon on October 3, 4, and 5. I'll be there, wandering around.... no artist's alley table this year, though. Just look for the name tag "Virulyde".Once again, if you'd like to become familiar with the planet "Pleiades-47" from 2214, then here's a world map .You've probably noticed that this site's been re-arranged slightly. Well, it's the rants - instead of my updates occupying the top of the right column, I've moved down here next to LynxofCP. Hopefully the two of us can think of entertaining topics to annoy you with between 2214 updates.Additionally, there's a whole new feature, which I've yet to decide the purpose for.... the webcam. Right now, it's at the studio, and it's pointed up at the sky out the window. Beats me as to why. Email me any suggestions.... maybe I could use it to show drawings in progress or the cat or maybe the turkey in the oven. I've no clue. Maybe I can talk Lynx into setting up a webcam somewhere, too.
Well, I hope to meet at least some of you out there at C-kon.... I'll be wandering around.... and I look just like my avatar up there... LOL!
Well, page 39 was basically on time after all. This week, a bonus page will be completed, time permitted.
Lost? Here's a map of Pleiades-47 (Kaperth) . The characters are currently in a town near the Morgan's Gate landing site.
Sorry, folks, page 39 is going to be a bit late. I've been doing other stuff, but sometime this week I'll have it done. Look for it probably in the middle of the week. There have been many, many things I've had to do this weekend.I've created this map of Pleiades-47 (Kaperth) . It's sort of a guide to the world of 2214.
Heh. It's me, the black sheep of the web comic community.Since the automatic hate mail filtering was activated, I haven't receieved a single hate mail. That's good - I know people haven't stopped sending them, but at least I don't have to see any of it!Pity how old hatreds never let go. Oh well! As for anyone who sends hate mail, :-P!!!!!!! See into the future
Page 38, or at least it seems like it. At any rate, it's done, and actually ahead of schedule for once!
You know what would be nice? If you Email us. You know, because it's fun to get email from people. Unless it's spam. But email from fans is always nice. Here's a lobster.
