New Monitor!

Well, I hooked up my new 19" Flat-panel, and it is awesome.

Originally, I wanted to get a CRT to replace the one that had gone bad, but the stores didn't have any 17" CRT's. They only had 15" CRT's that didn't have flat screens or adequate contrast. So... I gave in and got an LCD flat panel: an Acer AL1914.

The colors are great. The specs say that it supports display of 16.7 million colors (which is what my video card shows, like most do). The picture is sharp - a little too sharp - and the contrast is great. I fiddled with the controls quite a bit to make sure the backlight wasn't being pushed to the max. Backlights are the big thing that wears out in flat-panel monitors. I heard that keeping it on the lowest reasonable setting can help prolong its longevity. If anyone knows about this for sure, e-mail me.

So... I've finished my freelance work for now. There's a new site I'll be starting within the next couple of weeks, though. Having some time now, I'll probably get back on track with the comic.

Busted Monitor

Well, maybe I'm cursed. My main monitor just died on my today; and the LCD monitor is too blurry to do any art on. Therefore, not only is 2214 on hold, but all of my freelance work until I can get a suitable replacement monitor.

Luckily, CRT's have dropped in price since LCD's are becoming more widespread. Even so, I'm in a cash crunch so this is absolutely not a fun situation at all.

Also, looks like Crime Time's up to their old tricks again... my internet connection is having serious problems, *again*...

In the meantime, Here's a new song.

Busy, but still...

There was a lot of freelance work on my plate over the past week, but I have most of it done now.
If everything goes well, I can start drawing page 114, which is a tad overdue when taking the unplanned holiday break into account.
Trust me, I'm not quite as lousy about deadlines as I used to be. 2006 will have fewer late updates (I hope!)

Happy New Year

It's 2006, oh goodie.

Although I didn't intend to, I ended up taking a break over the holiday. Whoops.

Lots of stuff to do. I have some freelance work on my plate that needs to be finished up, plus I'm building a web site for my sister. Also, I've got comics to do. Busy, busy.

Something tells me it's going to be an eventful year.

Happy Holidays

Well, I've made progress on the next installment of 2214, but I'll be taking Saturday and Sunday off for the holiday. Like I said before, no holiday hiatus, but I won't be working on Christmas.
There's a new gag-comic feature on the site now, called "Proper Time Theatre", and you can see it Here. It's about nothing, makes no sense, and it will confuse most people. But if you like totally random humor, you might get a chuckle or two, when it's ready. I might not have anything up for it until after Christmas, though.
The art won't be up to any sort of standard like I strive for in 2214; it's strictly about the nonsense.
Also, for all you time-traveler wannabes (that includes myself :P), you can create your very own Time Traveler ID. Just supply whatever information you feel like putting in (and your info won't be saved anywhere but on your own computer), and supply a scan of your signature, your photo, avatar of your choice, and a .wav of your voice saying "voiceprint". Or, just supply whatever of those you wish, or none of the above. It's up to you.
Just do me a favor. Don't try to pass it off as a fake ID anywhere. I could get in trouble or something. It's just for fun, after all.
Happy holidays (Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, etc.)!

Next Page Due

Since last week's page was just finished, I've already started the next one. Since the script's been extended by a lot, I'm planning the pages differently now. A lot was re-written.
Christmas is next week, but this year I'm not taking a break from 2214 over the holidays. That means sometime around the holiday there should still be an update.

Still working on it

Bleah. I'm way late on the update. So, I'll do two pages this week. I'm currently working on the art for page 113. It's going to be quite detailed, therefore it's taking a long time to draw.
Quality over quantity.

Easter Eggs

To make things a bit more fun, I've started hiding something in every new page of 2214, starting with page 112.

A few hints:

1) The easter egg is hidden in the same place and the same procedure is used to extract it each time.

2) The contents of the easter egg will change periodically.

3) All you need is an image editor to extract the hidden image from the pages.

Have fun!
