The visual novel so far and the store re-opens!

The 2214 visual novel has been coming along nicely since starting back in August. The 2214 story is getting a complete reboot where many details are better explored and several aspects of the story are explained in greater depth.

The visual novel has an alternative, webcomic-style viewing mode and the script can be read as plain text. Furthermore, for those with curiosity about technical details, statistics pertaining to the visual novel are available. Since the visual novel is a thick-client, multimedia browser-based application, it uses the latest features available via modern browser standards. As a result, older browsers such as Internet Explorer are not supported. IE users will be automatically redirected to the "web comic" viewing mode.

Anyone familiar with the visual novel and anime Steins;Gate may notice some nomenclatural coincidences; this is especially likely for those new to the 2214 story line and this web site. Specifically, NitroPlus / Nitrocosm and Steins;Gate / Morgan's Gate. These coincidences are just that -- 2214 was written in 2001 and became an online web comic on February 23, 2003. Steins;Gate was initially released on October 15, 2009. I just wanted to make sure that was addressed and clarified now that the visual novel is picking up steam.

The store has also been re-opened and I've added several new products. If you have any merchandise design requests, that would be great. Right now we have t-shirts, hoodies, posters, coffee mugs, and, of course, a School Bus lunch bag. Unfortunately, the original School Bus lunch box is no longer available. Any purchases from the store help me continue making web comics, music, art, and other various things on this site.
